“A unique experience and genuine getaway” The Saldanha Bay region is an area renowned for its contrast and natural beauty. It lies between the Berg River mouth in the north, and West Coast National Park (Langebaan) in the south, and stretches inland to Hopefield with the Berg River in the northeast. The unspoilt coastline, with Langebaan Lagoon, Saldanha Bay, St.Helena Bay, numerous small fishing villages, holiday resorts and seaside towns, is renowned for its scenic beauty and abundant sea life. Migrating whales and dolphins provide a common sight along the coast and visitors can enjoy dishes like mussels, crayfish and line fish pulled from the cold waters of Benguela Current. As bird life abounds, the region is a paradise for bird watchers, with travelling waders, seabirds and birds of prey just part of the variety. Saldanha Bay region has much to offer – whether it is going gaming in the local casino or activities ranging from horse riding and 4X4 routes to all tipes of watersports!
