In the town of:
Cape Town South Peninsula:
Cafe Pescado - Restaurant/Pub/Bistro/Live Music - Simon's Town
Located at the Criterion Centre, 118 St George's Street. (Opposite Jubilee Square). Tel 021 786 2272. We visit Pescado's for evening dinners only. Parking opposite on Jubilee square is easily available in the evening. (The local drunks try to solicit for looking after your car, but they seem to be harmless) Live music seems to be on Saturday evenings only. Restaurant is split by the bar area - smoking tables in back section behind the bar area, non-smoking at the front door by the wood-burning pizza oven. Tables slightly wobbly, chairs small(tiny), round, lightly padded - uncomfortable seating for a long meal. A "large salad for the whole table" (not on the menu) will bring a huge bowl adequate for 4-6 people at the price of 2 single salad servings. Greek salad is R23.00 per single serving - the huge bowl is R46.00. Mini Hawaiian Pizza & Salad R20.00 Mini Margherita P & Sal. R16.00 Linefish with veg. (Mostly "Cape Salmon") R50.00 Mussels R49.00 Calamari R55.00 Tagliatelle R40.00 LM 1/2 Chicken R43.00 I/Cream + Choc sauce R11.50 Lemon Sorbet R13.50 Coke float R11.00 Dom Pedro R17.00 Appletiser R8.00 Orange Juice R8.50 Amstel R8.00 Mixer drink (tonic water) R7.00 BYO wine is okay - sometimes corkage of R10/bottle is charged. A place to take family - not to try and impress smart guests.
