Here are some of the things you can do at Hermanus:
The Hermanus area is packed with interesting things to do and places to explore. Much smaller and quieter than Cape Town, you can reach intriguing places without having miles of freeway travel to get there.
Wine estates, walks and hikes, superb bird watching, shark diving, penguins, 3 fine golf courses, fishing, horse riding, mountain climbing, paragliding, canoeing, ocean kayaking, museums, ten beaches, wildflowers, tortoises, easy mountain hikes, mountain bike trails, motor bike trails, 4x4 trails, township tours, nature trails, unusual restaurants, craft markets, lakes and rivers, wild, wonderful and far from the crowds! And commanding views from a series of easy mountain walks and scenic drives.
There are at least eight Nature Reserves within 30 minutes drive or less. You might see Baboons in the mountains, rare oystercatchers along the beach, penguins at Stony Point, and flamingos on the lake. Main Reserves are: Harold Porter, Kogelberg, Palmiet, Kleinmond, Rooisand, Middlevlei, Fernkloof and Walker Bay.
