SUURBRAAK is a mission station village situated in the fold ogf the Langeberg mountains, alongside the Buffelsjachts river about 5km from the majestic Tradouw's pass. The road that runs through Suurbraak is on the route between Swellendam, Barrydale and Heidelberg. This route offers great scenic beauty and the secondary roads above the village have spectacular vistas. The village is well worth visiting on day trips for tourists, who wish to explore for hikers and mountain bike riders.

The Suurbraak Skrynmakers - Visit the manufacturers of the outstanding handmade chairs of this area.
Old Buildings - The village itself still has many of the original houses. The buildings around the village square and the two church buildings have been restored.

Hikers and Mountain Bikers - Many mountain trails are available to those wishing to explore the area.
