LAINGSBURG - ANNUAL - KAROO FESTIVAL
Laingsburg, 250km from Cape Town, became known to us because of the tragic 1981 floods when the Buffelsriver claimed it's land.
From 29 - 30 October 2004 Laingsburg is hosting it's 5th Karoo Festival. The Friday you will be entertained by the "Boeremusieklgilde" in the Beer Garden. Saturday morning kicks off with the "Moordenaars Karoo Half Marathon". For those not so energetic, a farm breakfast at the "Oase", will be a good way to start a day full of exciting activities.
Zirk Bergh will be one of the entertainers at the festival while the children can enjoy donkey cart rides, take part in the baby competition or watch a karate demonstration. Bring you camera along and join in on the 150km Karoo-motorbike route where you can experience the unspoiled landscape of the Karoo.
A festival train will be leaving from Cape Town at 6h00 on Saturday to join the festivities for the day in Laingsburg.
To end off this incredible family weekend in the Karoo, a church service will be held at 10h00 in the arena the Sunday morning.
