“The Cottage” General Information “The Cottage” is situated in our garden, separate from the main house. It has a small private patio and garden while inside is decorated with a cape reed ceiling and simple African artifacts. There is a comfortable double bed and a single bed can be added if needed. The bathroom has a shower and a bath and there is a small kitchenette for self-catering. Tea, Filter Coffee and Rusks are available. Towels and bedding are provided. A laundry service is available during the week. It is cool in summer and during winter there is a small Queen Anne fireplace or a heater. We are a 10-minute walk from “down town” We are recommended in the Lonely Planet Travel Guide for South Africa. RATES: R160 per person sharing Directions: As you enter Franschhoek from Cape Town or Stellenbosch, turn left up Uitkyk Street. It is the same road that takes you up towards Chamonix Wine Estate, so look for signs to Chamonix. At the first stop street on Uitkyk turn left into Huguenot Street and we are the middle house on the right (55 Huguenot Street). Check in is fairly relaxed. If no one is at home the cottage will be open, so just wander in and make a cup of tea and have a rusk.. Shasta, our dog , may bark, but she will then wag her tail and is very guest friendly.
